Primary Film-Making
Ages 9 – 11
This course is for students who are interested in video filming and editing.
Students will learn the technical skills in operating a camera to get high-quality footage, and learn how to edit their footage into a fun video. They could create a video game review, or an instructional tutorial.
This course spans 15 hours, 1.5 hours a week for 10 weeks.
Primary Film-Making will be running in Term 4, 9am (AWST).
Course costs $199 for the term. Courses are group sessions of 2-5 students.
Requirements:
To capably complete this course, students will need:
A device with Internet connection
Digital video camera, mobile phone or tablet. You do need to be able to upload some of the footage you have filmed onto your device
Tripod for camera device is suggested if available
Device also requires video editing software- this can be organised after the course has commenced.
Windows 10 Photo Editor (PC only, free to download with Windows)
iMovie (Apple products only, purchase from Apple Store)

Analysing media works to explore viewpoints
By the end of this course, students will have their own videos files, and a movie response document. Students will not receive a grade or assessments on tasks.
Supplies you own
You’ll be able to utilise or recycle supplies you already have at home to complete lesson activities. We’ll provide you with alternative options as well.
Hands-on activities
Our activities are designed to keep your child engaged, whether learning how to use a camera on a tripod, or adding titles to their video footage.
