Junior Primary Media
Ages 6 – 8
This course is for Years 1-3 students who are interested in photos, videos, comics or animation.
Students will experience a wide range of types of media
This course spans 5 hours, 1 hour a week for 5 weeks.
Primary Animation will be running in 2025.
Course costs $80. Courses are group sessions of 1-5 students.
Requirements:
To capably complete this course, students will need:
A device with Internet connection
(any software that is used will be free and online- no student data saved on the site)
Curriculum areas covered:
Putting images, audio and text together to tell a story or a message
How to create a fictional character
Learning and using technical and symbolic skills
Analysing media works
By the end of this course, students will have a variety of media work documents, and a response document. Students will not receive a grade or assessments on tasks.
Supplies you own
You’ll be able to utilise or recycle supplies you already have at home to complete lesson activities. We’ll provide you with alternative options as well.
Hands-on activities
Our activities are designed to keep your child engaged, whether learning how to use a camera on a tripod, or adding titles to their video footage.
